I Want To Know Him

The question we have to ask ourselves as Christians is what is the number one priority in our lives? It doesn’t mean we have give up our families, our jobs, or the things we love, but is knowing Christ; is pursuing him truly our number one priority? Are we truly focused on knowing the one who has redeemed us; the one who bankrupt all of heaven to save our souls? Unfortunately, for most of the church, I am afraid that we go about our own lives making everything else a top priority, pursuing our own agendas, and Christ has just become an extra addition that takes up an hour and a half on Sunday mornings. If we are not careful, we can be become infatuated with his power, signs, wonders, and miracles more so than becoming infatuated with him and with a desire of being conformed into his image. If we are not careful, we can slip into that place where we know ABOUT him instead of really knowing him.

Christian-let the premiere focus of your life not be about what you can receive from him or about the work you do for him, but let your top priority; let the premiere purpose of your life be in knowing him. May the Lord look deep into all of ours hearts and find a desire that’s screams I want to know him!

Philippians 3:10- “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.”
